Politicians and liberals in particular need victims or else they would be out of business. We here the same bull crap every 4 years, some just say the same things better than others. This is where Senator Obama comes in. His main message has been about hope. He also talks about unity and of course, he says that this time, with him as President, things will be different. He says, "that this time we have to write a new chapter in American history." Will it really be different? If you listen to the rest of the stuff in his speeches, its the same old tired retoric. Its basically class warfare. By the way, Huckabee is just the Republican version of Obama.
The most distgusting thing about these speeches is that they take all the accountablity and resposibility off the individual. These politicians, help us poor, middle class citizens, rationalize our problems. The news media is the same way. If a woman has $40,000 in credit card debt from shopping to much, they blame the credit card company. Or they talk about the credit card as if its balance climbed to that level of debt by itself, without the owner of the card participating at all. Then, of course they demonize the CEOs of successful corporations. Hillary Clinton says, she will take profits away form the oil companies. Will this move help you or me? Of course, not. But it might make the vengeful side of us feel good because one of the fat cats are getting fleeced. The same fat cat that we are hoping to become.
So what if you are one of the followers of Obama's hope speeches? What if you "hope" to much? What if you really, really hope a lot? What if your such a good hoper that you become a successful business person or you climb the corperate ladder and start living the "good life?"
I guess you might end up on the bad side of the people that inspired you to hope so much. They need you do be in the position of always hoping. Hope, hope, hope until you hope yourself to death, then... get taxed one more time. So hope is pointless, if what you are hoping for is demonized by the same people that convinced you to hope for it in the first place.
